LESSONS
Our private or group surf lessons include all instruction, surfboards, and wetsuits, and last about two hours. A private surf lesson is the best way to learn, and our group surfing class student-to-instructor ratio is never more than 5:1 (more often 2:1, depending upon skill levels and conditions). A good surf lesson will put you in the safest area, and give you valuable ocean skills that will last a lifetime. Yes, rentals are cheap, but a good surf lesson is a great investment in your safety as well as the safety of others. (In short, we keep you from looking foolish and killing yourself :).
The best way to get started is to EMAIL us.
If it’s short notice, give us a CALL: (714) 499-3315. During summers, we’re usually on the beach from 8 am until 2 pm, and like to get our last lessons started before noon when it gets windy and crowded.
We’re available all year-round by appointment, and usually ready to go same-day. Appointment times are more flexible during the off-season, and often the conditions are better! Autumn/winter is perfect for large GROUPS and COMPANY PARTIES.
Lessons include all instruction, boards and wetsuits.
One person/Private – $139 (2 hrs w/ instructor & all equipment)
Group of two or more – $99 each (summers and anytime you/we have a group)
Bring your group of 4 or more – $89 each
Bring your group of 8 or more – $79 each (There would be at least 3 instructors)

A warning about other surf lesson “bargains”
In your search for a surfing adventure there are a few things to consider.
- Note that all our surf lessons are TWO hours. You may find cheaper lessons advertised, but often you’re looking at an HOURLY rate. (We don’t like to negotiate a second hour in the middle of all the fun).
- Some surf schools may overbook your surf lesson or company party, and end up with a shortage of equipment, so they “rotate surfers” and pull them out of the water just as they’re getting stoked, giving them less water-time. That’s a drag, dude!
- Any school (or Craigslist instructor :) that puts a 200 pound beginner on an 8 foot board is not properly equipped. The 8 ft. soft boards aren’t much good when the rider is over 130 lbs. (although our instructors seem to love ‘em).
- Most surf camps do not offer full wetsuits. We do. (And sometimes booties too)
